Sample Description
How to use this sample?
Click the buttons to the right of the chart to see object model of chart elements in text area below the chart.
How it works
Chart object model allows you to change chart settings on-the-fly without reloading or working with initial settings, this is described in Updating Chart using Object Model article. Several other samples in this section show how this can be used.
This sample merely reads the object model of chart elements and shows it as JSON string for demonstration purposes.
The difference between this sample and Obtain Chart Object Model as JavaScript object sample is: this sample uses helper methods for working with object model - getChartById, getSeriesById, getTechIndicatorById, getEventMarkerById and getEventMarkersGroupById, these methods allow you to obtain link to significant entities by id, without the need to search for them in object model.
Note: you can work with objectModel only if needConfig is set to true.
AnyChartStock JavaScript API
This sample uses the following methods, properties and events from AnyChartStock JavaScript API:
Item | Type | Description |
---|---|---|
flashObject | Property (DOM Object) | Link to a created Flash DOM object, that is used to show charts. |
needConfig | Property (Boolean) | Defines whether the access to full chart configuration object model is required. |
getChartById | Method | Returns link to a chart object in the objectModel. |
getEventMarkerById | Method | Returns the link to event marker object. |
getEventMarkersGroupById | Method | Returns the link to event marker group object. |
getSeriesById | Method | Gets series object from the object model by its id. |
getTechIndicatorById | Method | Gets the link to technical indicator object by its id. |
setXMLFile | Method | Sets chart XML configuration file path. |
write | Method | Adds the chart to HTML DOM as a child of the specified container. |
onChartDraw | Event | This event is dispatched when the AnyChart Stock is drawn. |
Prerequisites
This section lists all configuration, data and auxiliary files required for this sample.
Configuration file
CSV files
SWF files
- AnyChartStock.swf - AnyChart Stock component.
- Preloader.swf - AnyChart Stock helper component that loads the main component (AnyChartStock.swf) and displays loading progress.
JavaScript Libraries
- AnyChartStock.js - A JavaScript library that is shipped with AnyChart Stock component. It is used to embed the component into HTML DOM and to comunicate with the Flash part.
